S2S Tutor’s (S2S) vision is to be the best educational support company providing tutoring, mentoring and placement services to individuals and institutions globally. Our mission is to provide individuals excellent tools, motivation and care needed to succeed academically and professionally. S2S offers K-12 tutoring, college tutoring, and mentoring. S2S was founded in 2007 by two engineers, husband and wife team, Jonah and Whitney Ukpai.

Elise Reis

K-12 Center Director

Elise Reis currently serves as the K-12 Center Director at S2S Tutor in Ruston, LA. Previously, she worked as a fourth grade teacher specializing in math and science. She has nine years of experience mentoring and tutoring students of all ages in various educational programs. She states, ” I believe that there is a solution to every obstacle students face. I am dedicated to customizing a plan for each of our students that will empower them to overcome weaknesses and progress them towards their goals and dreams”.

Dr. Jo Ann Dauzat

Education Advisor

Dr. Dauzat is Dean and Professor Emeritus of the College of Education at Louisiana Tech University. She holds the baccalaureate degree in elementary education, master’s degree in elementary education and supervision, specialist degree in reading and language arts education, and the doctorate in elementary education with reading specialization. She has done post-doctoral study in adult education, administration, and early childhood education. After a 40 year career in education, Dr. Dauzat retired from her position as Dean of the College in December of 2007. She currently serves as Coordinator of External Projects for Louisiana Tech University President Reneau.

Dr. Gary Stokley

Community Advisor

Associate Professor of Sociology at Louisiana Tech University, Dr. Stokley has committed his life to building our community. He was selected by students as One of Ten Most Influential Faculty/Staff Members on the Louisiana Tech University Campus in 2008. Dr. Stokley is a member of numerous non-profit boards: Big Brothers/Big Sisters Northeast Louisiana, D.A.R.T., Emerson Center for Children, Head Start, Ruston Mental Health/Substance Abuse, Ruston Parks and Recreation. Since 1971, he has advised numerous student academic and social organizations such as, SGA, Union Board, Cheerleaders, Kappa Alpha Order, and Social Sciences Club.

Dr. Bettye Smith

Education Advisor

Dr. Smith is a professor at the University of Georgia. She has over 35 years of teaching experience with 20 of those in the secondary schools and 15 in higher education. As a professor at a Research I institution, she has a strong research record in teacher preparation and teacher development.

Bill Tubre

Community Advisor

He has committed his life to building our community. Bill is the Senior VP and Manager for Business and Consumer Lending Services at Community Trust Bank. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northwestern State University in 1970. He is a U. S. Military (USN) Vietnam Veteran. Bill has been married to Barbara for 38 years. He has 2 Sons, David, a 1997 LA Tech School of Engineering graduate and Richard, a 1999 LA Tech Pre-Med and 2001 LSU Physical Therapy graduate.

Dr. Dave Norris

Development Advisor

The Director of the Enterprise Center at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA., Dr. Norris works with all of the university’s business and economic development initiatives with a particular focus on technology innovation and entrepreneurship. He also works with communities throughout the region on economic development strategies. Dr. Norris grew up in West Monroe, LA and received his bachelor’s degree in business from Louisiana Tech in 1991. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999. In addition to his private consulting he has worked as an economist at the Ray Marshall Center for Public Policy in Austin, in Office of the Chief Economist at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C., and on the faculty at Northeastern University in Boston.
